Merry Christmas – Love Peace & Joy to You All

Inspired to Dream

I am on a blue and gold kick this week, I just can’t get past it and now I know why… imagine your sitting on a beach, almost sunset, now just marvel at the sky, the water, the colors, smell the fresh sea air, feel the warm breeze on your face and in you hair! There now I feel much better.

Inspired by the Holiday Colors

Every time I see someones art or in the midst of Holiday Colors I am inspired! With some, the inspiration is so powerful I have to weave some beads and create a little piece of art myself! It’s a thrilling ride, a color festival and I don’t want to go home.

Again it’s time to share a powerful gift…holiday colors blue & gold moved me to create another visual experience that will delight the eyes and lift the spirits

Happy Holidays!

Inspired by Lake Superior Beach Stones

I love the feel of the beach stone, tumbled over and over to make the stone soothing to touch, so smooth it will take away all worry all troubles.

New Piece of Art in the House

Last night I hung a new piece of art in my house, a Pomegranate Giclee print by friend and fellow HandmadeMN member Cindy Lindgren and I am finding it to be so calming and inspiring.

Cindy’s graphic style of illustration was inspired by the Arts & Crafts Movement (1880-1920). Cindy says, “Craftsmen looked to nature around them for decorative art themes using native plants and flowers like poppies, pine cones, thistles and roses. Rather than reproducing realistic renderings, they eliminated detail and simplified them to abstract forms. This table linen, of floral embroidery is an example from Eastwood Gallery in St. Paul that specializes in American Arts & Crafts Antiques. It has many pieces whether it’s linens, tiles or ceramics that I find inspiring.”

Cindy says, “Like the artists of that period such as William Morris, I prefer plants and flowers I can grow myself to draw from. I sketch the plant over and over until I find its essence in just a few graphic shapes.

You can find Cindy on Etsy and her blog where you will find other lovely prints, cards, fabric and rugs…have fun!

Inspired by the Mysterious Scenes in Picasso Jasper

Every time I see someones art or the gift of nature’s beauty I’m inspired! With some, the inspiration is so powerful I have to weave some beads and create a little piece of art myself! It’s a thrilling ride, a color festival and I don’t want to go home.

Again it’s time to share a powerful gift of nature…Picasso Jasper moved me to create another visual experience that will delight the eyes and lift the spirits!

Picasso Jasper is known for its delicate and mysterious scenes and trees found within the stone, it will often take you deep within the woods, or to an old tree on the edge of a field…. Revealing aspects of “the great mystery” this stone is a gateway to the unknown. Whatever that “unknown” may be in your life, this stone can help bring on insight and possibly solutions to what may be causing anxiety within this “not knowing”. What’s not to love about this mysterious stone!
